I have always been interested in the patterns found in architecture, particularly classical architecture and mosaics. Travel has enabled me to experience some of these and take them as starting points for my textile art.

In recent years I have indulged myself with studying various artists with the Impressionists appealing to me the most, and this has influenced my style of paint and stitch. After studying Pierre Bonnard I produced a series of pieces based on the female form and from there my work evolved into flowers as a subject, absorbing and enjoying all the colours. Recently I combined the two in pieces of work, the female form and more stylized flower content.

Now I am again musing with classical architecture, Roman and Greek, concentrating on the natural colours and the patterns in friezes and columns, together with the nature and light found in the Mediterranean area.
