My mother did not sew but she did knit. She would make up her own patterns - stripes, checks and try different colours. She loved colour, as do I, and I think this is where my love for textiles comes from.

Seeing an end of year City and Guilds Embroidery exhibition started me off on a wonderful journey of learning and I enjoyed all the diverse areas of textile and stitch.

Making, dying and manipulating papers is the medium I pursued and used in my early work, together with machine embroidery. Recently I have been experimenting with different fabrics and techniques such as monoprint, combining these with my papermaking.

My journey continues.
